Church Centenary

Gerrards Cross Methodist Church Centenary Year ended in December 2008 and the final event was a Carol Concert by The St Sepulchre Singers, from the church of St Sepulchre, London. Over the Centenary Year a series of events had been organised and  profits from these events were donated to “The Iain Rennie Hospice Care At Home” charity.  On Sunday 18th January, Brian Fowler, an Iain Rennie ambassador, gave a presentation of the work of  the Iain Rennie charity to the congregation of Gerrards Cross Methodist Church and received a cheque on behalf of the charity for £2150 from  the minister Rev Nigel Coke-Woods.

Another World

In 1908 a Methodist Church was opened in Gerrards Cross – 40 years before the start of the National Health Service, when Russia was still ruled by a Tzar, London hosted the Olympic Games and English women still had no vote.  An evening of words, music, fun and parlour games helped show what our world was like in 1908.
