Oakend Wayfarers

The Oakend Wayfarers 2011/2012 Session is now under way and we have managed to secure a speaker of International repute. Anthony Parker was a RADA graduate in 1951. After 18 years acting in Rep. he then went to the West End, i.e. one year in “Ring for Catty” (Lyric Theatre) and four years in “The Amorous Prawn” (Saville and Piccadilly Theatres), intermingled with numerous TV and film roles. In the late 60s he became a Producer/Director for a further 30 years with Thames TV Light Entertainment during the “Golden Years of TV Comedy.”

Although currently in New York, he is arranging to return in time to talk to the men at Wayfarers on Wednesday, 26 October 2011.

Sunday 23rd October 10.30 am
Church Anniversary, with Guest Preacher,
Rev Dr Malcolm White

Malcolm was ordained in 1965 as a Methodist Minister. His ministry has been a little unusual. After leaving University, he spent a year on Caravan Missions with short stays in different parts of the country; then he did what he describes as normal church work with churches in the Midlands. The Methodist Church then asked him to go as Theology Tutor to Cliff College in Derbyshire. Having stayed for there 5 years, he went as Head of R.E and Chaplain to our Methodist School in Devon. During this time he unsuccessfully stood for Parliament, although he has continued to be deeply interested in Politics. After this he had three other appointments in Education as well as helping in the local Churches. His last appointment was as Headmaster of a large London Comprehensive School. He remained there for 16 years, during which time he was also the Associate Minister at Windsor Methodist Church. His whole involvement in Education and Politics was so that he could be close to people outside the Church and so that he might have the opportunity to communicate the Gospel and help people reach their full potential. In the early1990s another phase of ministry opened up as God blessed his ministry with certain healing gifts. In 1998 he resigned as Headmaster, and left Windsor Church to set up and run the prayer and healing ministry at the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster. He has spoken at Conferences in this country and abroad, written and helped to write a few books and articles. He is married to Jennifer, who is a Pharmacist, and they have two grown up children.
