As a Men's Supper Club, Oakend Wayfarers would have celebrated its 35th Anniversary in 2020, were it not for the pandemic lockdown.

With effect from September 2017, all Wayfarers' meetings were opened to ladies as well as gentlemen. Meetings were held monthly from September to May, usually on the last Wednesday of the month. 

Also with effect from September 2017, the timing of the evening was brought forward slightly, with members gathering at 7.15 pm for a 7.30 pm dinner, followed by a presentation by a guest speaker.

Oakend Wayfarers aimed to have a varied programme of speakers, as can be seen from the last fully planned programme of meetings in 2019-2020:

   Members paid £9.00 per
   meeting, to cover the
   cost of the meal and any
   speaker’s expenses.
   In order to assist with
   catering, members were
   asked to inform the Catering
 Co-ordinator of their intention to attend, at the latest by the Sunday
 before the meeting.
